Yes, it’s definitely NOT a sympathetic view of Catherine Howard, which is honestly fine by me. I’ve always considered her to be a bit daft considering the very real threat that would have existed, given Anne’s fate in the not too distant past.

I think it’s pretty realistic that Kitty would have at the very least been detained. I liked this portrayal better than a lot of the ones I’ve read

I feel the same way – Anne Boleyn is by far my favorite of Henry’s wives, she was so smart and really just seemed unlucky.

This was definitely an interesting look at Catherine’s time period, although I will admit I’m getting a bit tired of her and I don’t think I’ll read anything about her for awhile, lol.

Kitty’s story really made this story for me. To me this seemed like one of the least sympathetic view of Catherine Howard in pop culture that I’ve come across (even from the books on the wives, maybe).

You make a good point, about it being a realistic view of the fate Kitty and people like her faced. They were probably lucky to have made it out of the Tower.

I am definitely more of an Anne Boleyn fan when it comes to reading about the wives of Henry VIII-I love imagining scheming powerful Anne who ended up with a bad hand of cards. But I did enjoy getting to read more about Catherine and that time period since I am less familiar with it.
