A plea to the fashion world

Posted by dorolerium on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

I was recently at my local Target, looking just for stuff, really.  Since I just moved, there are some things I need in this new place that I didn’t have before.

Anyway, I pass the clothing section and I am just in love with tons of the dresses I am seeing.  This happens everywhere I go.  The problem?  I am five feet, three inches tall.  This translates to maxi length dresses looking like wedding trains on me.  And it makes me so sad, because I really do want to wear these pretty dresses, so much that I have been tempted to get some and just find shoes tall enough to accommodate my height deficiency.

So fashion designers, I beg you, pleeeeeeeease make these dresses in a “short” version.  Y’all do it with jeans, you should be able to do it with dresses too!

I did the same thing at Target today – tried on a super cute grey Mossimo sleeveless T-shirt dress that ended up having a good five-inch floor drag on my five-foot body. Frustrating. I did find a maxi dress at the Gap Outlet that actually fit my height, and I think about the same price as the Target one, fyi.

I think I know just the dress you are referring to…it makes me so sad! But good to know about the Gap, I’ll have to check it out! We should make a short people fashion blog, lol

I’ll work on it then! I’m unemployed right now, so I’ve got nothing better to do anyway ;)
