For the record, I’m like 3 weeks behind on the show already. I just watched this episode on Tuesday, but still have 3 more waiting on my Tivo.
I really think that part of the reason I get so frustrated with this show is episodes like this one. It’s great to see the Green Arrow’s origination story, but I kind of feel like this episode should have happened like 2 seasons ago. Hopefully there will be some reason going forward, but I don’t think it’s important at all that Oliver and Tess knew each other in the past. It seems like a desperate attempt to tie everything together for no reason.
This is the sort of episode that I feel did virtually nothing to forward the season. The only important information we learned is how Chloe is being affected by what Brainiac did to her – and really, we already knew that. When a show is in what’s likely to be its last season, they don’t have time for throwaway episodes like this. There is a lot of shit that needs to be wrapped up, so I want to see nothing but plot furthering episodes!
I also have speculations about why Tess gave Oliver the information about Lionel being responsible for the death of the Queens. At this point, this feels so useless. Unless, of course, Lionel is coming back in some way – which I would love because I do adore Lionel Luthor. And then if he comes back, Oliver will have this big internal struggle about what to do to get his revenge, even though it wouldn’t be the real Lionel cuz it would be a clone from Lex’s lab.
