Weekly Workouts – February 3 to February 9

Readers WorkoutsFebruary Fitness Minutes: 66 – I use SparkPeople.com to track my fitness. If you’re interested, you can find me here.
February Nike Fuel: 25988 – I use the Nike+ FuelBand to calculate my Nike Fuel and overall activity.  It’s a great motivational tool!

Last week didn’t go so well for me.  I had a bunch of other things going on and ended up not doing any real exercise.  I totally missed my January fitness minutes goal too.  This week was a little better, although I also ended up busier than I thought I would be so I didn’t do all that I really wanted to!

I also forgot to mention a couple of weeks back that I got a set of six resistance bands to help with my strength training.  Prior to that I had one band, which had been pretty great, so I decided to buy a set.  They each provide a different level of resistance and I’m excited to see when I’ll build up to the next level!

February 3 – Nike Fuel 1782: My activity for the day consisted of playing fetch with a dog I was babysitting, and doing some strength training with one of my new resistance bands.

February 4 – Nike Fuel 3372: 51 Minute/2.78 mile walk with my younger dog.  I had a route planned out that would take us about 3.5 miles and last a little over an hour, but that was cut short by the weather and time.  I ended up working a little late so we didn’t get to leave right when I had first intended, and it was much colder out than I thought it was.  In order to not freeze and beat the darkness, I cut this one short.  I also did a bit of strength training during the day.

February 5 – Nike Fuel 2770: Walking a bit and some strength training.

February 6 – Nike Fuel 2483: Walking and strength training.

February 7 – Nike Fuel 2243: Work this day was extremely busy and I ended up working several hours late.  By the time I got done working, I was ready to go to sleep…which I didn’t do, but I did make the decision to watch some TV and relax the rest of the night.

February 8 - Nike Fuel 2303: Strength training and furniture arranging.  I always forget how tiring it is to move furniture until I do it again.

February 9 – Nike Fuel 2564: I didn’t have any formal exercise this day, just house cleaning and walking to and from my car in the cold.  We had a surprise snow storm – surprise to me because when I checked the weather the night before, it was not supposed to snow.  So the day was a lot colder than I planned for!

Sounds like you are off to a successful start for February! I don’t track fuel but will be soon (training to summit Mt Kilimanjaro).

    Have a great week!

I’m finding this all a bit hard to sustain in a busy winter as well. But doing a little every day at least helps keep me in the game so that when a better week does come along, I get a bit more exercise. It’s better than starting from 0.

All I can say is that sometimes life throws us for a loop–either with job responsibilities, illness, injury or even bad weather. I used to stress over missed workouts and let it bog me down. I’ve learned that it’s much better for me mentally and physically to just focus on getting past those blips and pick up where I left off as soon as possible.

Hope this week is good for you! :)

It looks like you snuck in a fair amount of activity into your busy week. I have a fitbit and I’m surprised at how many steps I log in just in my regular day.

I need to use SP more than I do. I’m really bad about tracking what I eat. I live in Florida so could walk outside most of the year. Instead, I walk inside on my treadmill most days. There are quite a few trails near my house that I walk on too though, mostly on the weekends.

I miss snow. You can send it my way!
