It’s Monday! What are you reading? February 10, 2013

Reading on MondayThis is a weekly meme run by Book Journey!

Post the books completed last week, the books you are currently reading, and the books you hope to finish this week.

Mailbox Monday is a weekly meme that was created by Marcia at The Printed Page, who graciously hosted it for a long, long time, before turning it into a touring meme (details here).  It is hosted at Unabridged Chick for the month of February.

*****

I started the week out with not much going on, but that changed as things went on and I ended up not having a lot of free time.  I’m really glad I got anything read at all!

Books completed last week:
Above All Things – Tanis Rideout: I enjoyed this book, and it was wonderfully written, but if I’m going to be honest, it kind of kicked my ass.  I was truly not prepared for the way it would affect me.  My review will be up at the end of this week.

Books I’m reading this week:
Highland Surrender – Tracy Brogan ~ 28%: I’m participating in a blog tour for this book later in the month, and I’m enjoying it so far.  Much easier to read after that Everest book!

Books ongoing:
Emma – Jane Austen ~ 24%: No Emma progress this week.

The Panem Companion – V. Arrow ~ 14%: I read a tiny bit in this one this week.

Books I acquired this week:
The Shoemaker’s Wife – Adriana Trigiani: This is on sale this month in the Kindle store, so I snatched it up!

What I watched this week:

  • Fashion Police, The Soup, Chelsea Lately,  The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, 1 girl 5 gays, The Graham Norton Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show
  • Justified
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • The New Normal
  • Modern Family
  • Arrow
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • King of the Nerds
  • Being Human
  • Scandal
  • Castle
  • Community – it’s finally back!
  • Moonrise Kingdom

My Top 5 Artists This Week:

  • The Smashing Pumpkins
  • Marvin Gaye
  • Echobelly
  • Oingo Boingo
  • Fall Out Boy

Emma isn’t my favourite Jane Austen. I should really read it again though as I think I would maybe appreciate it more now. Hope you are enjoying it.

I absolutely LOVED The Shoemaker’s Wife – such a fantastic story!!!

We were in the path of the nor’easter this past weekend, too and ended up getting about 15 inches. It was so pretty to look out but now it’s raining and the snow is melting.

    Have a great week!
