True Blood 2:8

Okay, normally I would be opposed to a resolution that seems to happen so easily.  The rescuing of Godric and everyone getting out of the church was so simple, yet I actually loved it.  This may be due to my new found love for Godric, it was love at first sight really and it has not faded one bit.  I especially love when he says “I am actually older than your Jesus.  I wish I could have known him, but I missed it.”

This was again, an episode with a ton going on.  But they are managing it pretty well so it’s actually not that bad.  I think I actually liked this episode well enough that I might watch it a second time.

I’m still confused as to how they managed to even capture Godric, like where did they find him and did they just tell him what they wanted to do?  It seems unlikely that they would just capture him, just like they undoubtedly couldn’t have gotten Eric had he not allowed it.

Another item that still has me puzzled is the Fellowship not realizing that Jason had ties to vampires.  Remember that episode where they had a circle of trust kind of thing?  Where they all bore their testimony?  Jason told them straight up he used to do V, dated a V addict, and that his sister is dating a vampire.  I’m not sure, where in all this, they had room for confusion of their own as to who he was.  And let’s be honest, as though Jason Stackhouse would ever be a good liar!

However, his somewhat new defending of Sookie is pretty cute, I don’t remember him trying to protect and save her this much last season.  I mean, he was willing to go up against Lorena to defend Sookie.  And I adore that he shot Steve with paintballs, it was hilarious!  The apology to Bill, sticking around all those vampires, he has really grown in my eyes.

No post about this show is complete anymore without mention of Maryann and all the craziness that is surrounding her.  I get that she’s evil, but I am still confused by why she is so obssessed with Tara.  Also, what on earth was up with Tara and Eggs eating that souffle?  Maybe it’s the vegetarian in me, but if I cut something open and it looks like blood, I am *not* eating it.  And this counts for cherry pie, cuz I’m not the biggest fan of cooked fruit.

Again, I hate the cliffhanger ending, but unfortunately it is working because I watched this episode on it’s first night and I probably will with the next one.  I’m also interested in the play upon societal tensions around the world, what with the hatred between the Fellowship and vampires, the Fellowship being so fanatical and sending a suicide bomber.  It’s also sad that the Fellowship decided to perpetrate an attack even though Godric was kind enough to let them all go.

Even though it probably took a good 18 episodes for this series to pull me in to the point where I will absolutely keep watching, it has gotten there.  I swear it is my love of vampires that has kept me going until now…and who knows, I may be able to make time for the books before the third season starts!
