Mercy 1:3

We got to learn a bit more about all our characters in this episode, naturally.  Veronica told Mike some about her time in Iraq; Sonia’s younger brother is involved in drugs and gangs; Chloe has a crush and wants to dress like a grown up.

The episode also starts with a code black emergency.  A local club caught on fire and pretty much everyone comes in dead, except one girl that Veronica is able to save.  My question is – shouldn’t this club have been more fire friendly?  I think they say somewhere in the episode that the fire doors were locked!

Chloe’s big case for the episode is this woman who has been bitten by a raccoon, which her husband says he poisoned and brought in so it could be tested for rabies.  Cept it turns out the raccoon isn’t dead, and begins running through the hospital.  So Chloe grabs a crutch and chases the thing down, presumably bludgeoning it to death.  I noticed that the crutch wasn’t even bloody, an oversight, I think.

Sonia and Veronica go shopping with Chloe on their lunches, and Sonia says this

Clothes tell the world who you are

I’m glad there’s a character on this show who is interested in fashion!  I am not one of those people who thinks that clothes are just something you put on to cover yourself up – I believe they say something about you.  And even though I don’t meticulously pick out each outfit I wear, I do make a point to only buy clothes that I feel convey myself in some way.  If you’re not comfortable in what you’re wearing, you’re never going to have fashion.

Anyway, Chloe ends up buying this low cut dress thingie to wear under her smock, and sadly her crush doesn’t even notice.  But the son of the rabies lady does, he asks if she went and got a boob job at lunch, which was hilarious.

This show consistently depresses me, yet I can’t help but like it.  Maybe I just need a depressing show in my watch list?
