This week I bring you Starstrukk by 3OH!3
I am a little torn about 3OH!3 as a group. If you pay any attention at all to what they are saying in their songs, they’re kind of misogynists. In fact, my sister reported that my cousin told her that the guys from 3OH!3 are jerks. I laughed when she told me that and said “Yeah, have you listened to their music? I didn’t need to know them to tell you that”. For the record, if you didn’t know, 3OH!3 is from Denver, and apparently my cousin kind of knows them. Or something.
So despite the fact that they are obviously jerks and disrespectful to women, they write some pretty catchy tunes. I liked Don’t Trust Me when it first came out as a single, and I have considered buying pretty much every song I’ve heard. But I do feel like a bit of a traitor to my gender when I listen to them.
Not only is Starstrukk catchy, despite kind of hating that whistle and their lyrics, they have Katy Perry. I guess maybe I haven’t mentioned it as much here, but anyone who knows me could tell you of my love for all things Katy Perry. She’s adorable, talented, and her music rocks my world. And this video is even more sexist. How can I condone this!
