Dr. Harris is still all anti people dying. Chloe is a whore. Some girl has a penis. Veronica might be pregnant.
We learned last episode that Petey, the dude Chloe is dating, is actually married. Poor Chloe ultimately finds this out in this episode, but not before Petey’s wife hangs fliers all over the place with Chloe’s picture and the word “Whore” written across the top. And also kind of receives a death threat from the wife. Who is one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey – which as an aside, I am opposed to because I think there’s too much attention given to reality TV already, but no one asked me.
A Korean guy is brought into the hospital with three GSWs, and Dr. Harris is not going to let him die. There will be no dying on his watch. Veronica is sent to work with him, because she’s the only one who isn’t afraid of him. Cept Veronica was there when he made the no dying declaration, so it’s obvs from the start that this isn’t going to work. In fact, at one point the head nurse lady person says “I should have known better than to send Nurse Crazy to look after Doctor Mean.”
Sonia is dealing with a patient who comes in with a kidney infection, but ultimately is a dude and never knew it. I never thought about it, but I didn’t realize that sometimes people are born with the wrong genitalia and end up turning into the other sex. That’s gotta suck, and I’m sympathetic to these people. See how TV is educational!
While helping with the dying Korean guy, Veronica gets all sick and throws up. This leads everyone to think that she’s pregs, which she accidentally tells to her mom, Chloe, and Sonia by not drinking with them. Ladies, this should be a lesson to you…sometimes you should turn down a drink just to keep people guessing. You don’t want them thinking you’re pregnant if you say no once! Anyway, Ronnie’s mom tells Mike, who seems like he really wants this to happen and asks Veronica to lunch to discuss.
Later on, after a bunch of crazy stuff, they do manage to save the guy. It takes Dr. Harris, Veronica, and Chris to do this, and at the end Veronica passes out. Cut to her waking up, saying she passed out cuz she’s pregs, and Chris telling her no she isn’t. For her sake, I feel a huge sense of relief cuz her life is a damn mess! Honestly, it’s just not a good idea to bring a baby into a situation where things are strained. She leaves Mike a message with this news, and he seems sad about it. Maybe they will work things out after all?
Chris also tells her that he’s starting a relationship with Gillian, to which she says that’s good, but you can tell she’s sad. I’m sure for her, it’s like the final nail in the bad life coffin. Things are just not going her way.
Petey’s wife does the whole threatening Chloe thing, which Veronica and Sonia get her out of. To her credit, Chloe totally throws the whole thing back in Petey’s face and wishes him luck in his loveless marriage. Although I find it hard to believe that Michelle Trachtenberg is old enough to be playing someone who has a masters degree, but whatever.
Sadly, the show is taking a three week hiatus. Which is weird since most shows usually take their break around the weeks surrounding Christmas, but this one won’t? Anyway, I look forward to its return!
